Sea Urchin Pendant 14k Gold Filled

This beautiful specimen of Psamechinus Milliaris from Galicia is a very special natural jewel. Selected for its particularly beautiful colours and different shades that mark the pentagonal structure of the sea urchin. This specimen is exceptionally rare because it has attached remains of mini coral, which is why it has survived for a long time under the sea without breaking until it was discovered.

Each sea urchin is hand-picked by me or one of my friends around the world, directly from the beaches and collected in the sand or between the rocks while diving.

This hedgehog measures approximately 15mm, a particularly rare size since it is much more common to find much larger adult specimens.

Nature never makes two things the same and that is part of the beauty of these jewels of the sea.

The urchins are filled with a polymer that adheres to the inner walls and makes them unbreakable. The outer texture is natural, without any treatment to maintain the natural appearance of the sea urchin skeleton.

The setting is made of 925 sterling silver plated with gold, and the front and back plates are 14 carat gold plated. Carefully placed in the two holes of the skeleton, prior to carving the shape to fit the pieces together.

Each piece is a unique treasure.
